Welcome to the home page of the
"Georgian Bay Minor Softball League"
The GBMSL is a co-operation of approx. 11 communities in the Georgian Bay area. Each community has a representative that sits on the GBMSL and the league executive is elected from those individuals.
Our season begins on the May long weekend and runs until Mid August to September depending on the teams involved. Our registrations generally begin in each community by March.
We are a mixed league starting at age 6 and running to age 20, playing competitive fastball amongst the other participating communities of the GBMSL
Some community's have registration info updated (yellow box above) Currently Coldwater, Lafontaine, Minesing, Victoria Harbour & Wyevale have 2018 Registration info up.
GBMSL "EXECUTIVE Only" Meeting
Monday Feb 12th @ 7 p.m. at Waverley Church- 17017 County Road 27
This is to go over items from Fall 2017 General Meeting and address items for kick off for 2018 Season
Full Membership Meeting will be announced here when scheduled
If you are looking to schedule diamonds at this early stage of the year please assume that season start will be on Monday, May 14th, that has been the season start time for the past 2 years and there has been no discussion to change it for 2018
Also Face guards on Helmets are required in SQUIRT, MITE
& TYKE for 2018, this is 2 years later so Squirt is now on the list
for 2018. In 2020 Peewee will also be added to the required list of
divisions. It is strongly reccommeded by the league at all levels!
Congrats to Hillsdale the 2017 Tyke Playoff Champions and recipients of the the GBMSL ROSS & MARY ANN LEONARD Championship Trophy and also the GBMSL "Triple Crown" Trophy, an awesome year, well done!

Tournament Details, Umpire Assignments will be updated as the tournaments approach, generally at least one week in advance. Results will follow tournament based on information conveyed to the league through coaches & photos taken
NOTE: IMPORTANT- In the past we have had several rain games in all divisions played on the Sunday- not being able to field a team because parents didn't plan on being available for the Sunday will not be considered a valid argument and it will result in a team forfeit from the tournament. Please make sure that you don't ignore the Sunday date, if cancellations due to weather occur, then games will be played on the Sunday if necessary!

Rain- if you cancel due to rain the playoff pages tell you to expect to play the next night, we know that isn't always possible due to diamond conflicts, players playing a division up, etc. The rule is as follows- You must have the game scheduled at least 2 days before the next game is to happen. If you cannot agree to play earlier then you MUST choose that date! If it rains on the mandated night then you WILL play the next night as the next game/round starts the evening after that! Mandated night listed below, earlier is always fine and encouraged. If a series goes to game 3 the same rule applies.
Squirt- Mandated night is the following Monday
Peewee- Mandated night is the following Tuesday
Bantam- Mandated night is that Saturday
Midget- Mandated night is that Sunday
